The Secret to Great Air Fryer Steak

The Secret to Great Air Fryer Steak

What You Need

For the Steak:

  • 1.25 lbs (500g) Sirloin or Ribeye: Trimmed of large fat pieces and cut into 1-inch cubes.

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil: Helps the seasoning stick and encourages browning.

  • Seasoning: 1 tsp kosher salt, 1 tsp coarse black pepper, 1/2 tsp onion powder, and 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.

For the Garlic Butter:

  • 3 tbsp Unsalted butter: Melted.

  • 3 cloves Garlic: Minced.

  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley: Finely chopped.

How to Make It

For the best results, take your steak out of the fridge about 15-20 minutes before cooking so it comes up to room temperature.

1.Preheat the air fryer:Crucial for a good crust.

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 5 minutes. A hot basket is essential for getting a good sear on the meat.

2.Season the steak:

In a medium bowl, toss the steak cubes with the olive oil until evenly coated. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, onion powder, and smoked paprika over the meat and toss again.

3.Air fry:

Place the steak bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer with a little space between each piece. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. (4 minutes for medium-rare, 6 minutes for medium-well).

4.Make the garlic butter:

While the steak cooks, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the minced garlic and fresh parsley.

5.Toss and rest:

Transfer the hot steak bites directly to a clean bowl and pour the garlic butter over them. Toss well to coat. Let the meat rest for 2-3 minutes before serving so the juices redistribute.

Serving Ideas

These steak bites are incredibly versatile. Serve them over a bed of mashed potatoes or cauliflower mash to soak up the extra garlic butter, alongside roasted asparagus, or even on top of a large green salad for a high-protein lunch
